Arsenal defender Gabriel leapt highest to head the Gunners in front during their 5-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace

The victory saw centre-back Gabriel put in a superb performance, opening the scoring in the 11th minute and creating another from a corner.

His header and a subsequent own-goal from goalkeeper Dean Henderson extended Arsenal's lead at the top of the charts for goals from set-pieces in the Premier League this season.

The top-flight's official social media platform put the first goal under the microscope by analysing how the Gunners were able to find a way past the Eagles backline.

Much was made of Leandro Trossard’s role which saw the Belgian create acres of space in the box to allow Gabriel to head Arsenal in front.

But the spotlight being placed on Arsenal’s tactical approach has not gone down well with fans who feel the Premier League have exposed Arteta’s set-piece weapon.

One fan wrote: "What have you gained from exposing our tactics to our opponents? That's unfair! You ought to be neutral!"

A second added: "Don't you think this will aid other teams in setting up vs Arsenal during set pieces?"

Another angrily wrote: "That’s too much info. Stick to stats or something."

A final added: "Why are you exposing tactics?"

The video clip posted on X, formally known as Twitter, shows Trossard dragging palace defender Joachim Andersen out of position, allowing Gabriel to comfortably head home the Gunners’ opener.

Arsenal went on to score another four times during the match with Palace goalkeeper credited with an own goal from another corner.

Trossard got on the scoresheet himself in a second half domination by Arteta’s men with Gabriel Martinelli netting twice in added time.

The Gunners are back in action next Tuesday when they travel to Nottingham Forest as they look to keep pace with leaders Liverpool in the title race.
