Arsenal are set to make Ethan Nwaneri the Premier League’s third-highest-paid teenager.
The 17-year-old has enjoyed an impressive breakthrough this season and looks to be the Gunners’ most high-potential youth product.
Scoring a brace in the EFL Cup against Bolton last month, Nwaneri earned the respect of his manager, who praised his performance and said he’s already at home in the club’s famous colours.
“I think it was a really strong performance for him. I think he really feels part of us,” Mikel Arteta told TNT Sports.
“You can tell that he’s playing with that confidence, that belief and the understanding of what he needs to do on the pitch – so very impressed.”
Arsenal open contract talks with Ethan Nwaneri
Keen to make Nwaneri one of the club’s most important players for the future, Arsenal’s decision-makers have decided to quash any suggestions the teenager could leave and instead want to make him one of the league’s top-paid players for his age.

As things stand, Tottenham’s Archie Gray (£75,000-per week) and Man United’s Leny Yoro (£114,000-per week) are England’s top-paid teenagers.
Since being promoted to the Gunners’ first-team in the summer, Nwaneri, who wears the number 53 shirt, has scored two goals in five appearances in all competitions.
