Arsenal are reportedly one of the clubs eyeing up Everton midfielder Amadou Onana as a potential transfer target this summer.
That’s according to a report from HITC, and it comes amid another claim from HITC that the Gunners are set to move on from their interest in Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
Although the report claims Arsenal had been keen on Zubimendi, it seems the Spaniard is not that sold on a possible move to England, so it could be that someone like Onana could now be an alternative.
The talented young Belgian has shone during his time at Goodison Park and looks like someone who could easily make the step up to playing for a bigger club like Arsenal.
Onana transfer: Will Arsenal win the race for the Everton midfielder?
Amadou Onana to Arsenal?Onana is also on the radar of the likes of Manchester United, Newcastle and Barcelona, according to HITC, so it might not be straightforward for Arsenal to win the race for his signature.
Still, the Emirates Stadium is arguably the place to be at the moment, with Mikel Arteta’s side looking very much like a team on the up after only narrowly missing out on the Premier League title in the season just gone.

A signing like Onana to replace the ageing and injury-prone Thomas Partey could be crucial for Arsenal to make up that small gap next season, but HITC also suggest that other midfielders like Bruno Guimaraes and Douglas Luiz are also still on their list.
Everton have supposedly not received any approaches for Onana yet, but HITC add that he could move for a fee of around £50million this summer, with the Toffees experiencing some financial difficulties in recent times and falling foul of Financial Fair Play regulations, which saw them docked points in the 2023/24 campaign.
