Arsenal have been linked with a move for the Brighton and Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson.

A report from Football Insider via Fichajes claims that Arsenal are keeping tabs on the 19-year-old and Mikel Arteta wants the club to secure his services in the coming months.

The report further adds that the striker could develop into €100 million player in the near future.

Ferguson has established himself as a talented young attacker in the Premier League, and he has a bright future ahead of himself. A move to Arsenal could be an exciting opportunity for him and it will be interesting to see if the Gunners are willing to make their move for him at the end of the season.

It is no secret that they need to bring in attacking reinforcement and signing a striker should be one of their priorities. The 19-year-old could compete with Gabriel Jesus for the starting spot next season. The Brazilian has been quite underwhelming this season and Arsenal need more competition for places.

Arsenal are currently pushing for the league title and they will be hoping to win major trophies on a consistent basis. They will need to plug the gaps in their squad during the summer transfer window and they need to bring in a reliable goalscorer.

Evan Ferguson would be a future prospect

Ferguson has six goals in the Premier League this season and his numbers are likely to improve when he is playing in a better team with more service. In addition to that, he will improve with coaching and experience as well.

The Republic of Ireland striker is still quite young and he would be a future investment for Arsenal. Even if the Gunners have to pay a premium for him now, he could end up justifying the investment in the near future.

The opportunity to join one of the biggest clubs in the country can be quite tempting and it will be interesting to see if Arsenal come forward with an official proposal to sign the player.
