For several seasons now with Arsenal, Martin Odegaard has established himself as one of the very best midfielders in the world. Cornerstone of Mikel Arteta’s system with the Gunners, the Norwegian midfielder is having a season of the same caliber as the previous ones. This Sunday, late in the afternoon, the Londoners got the best of a Liverpool who are almost unbeatable this season in the Premier League. Author of an XXL performance, the 25-year-old also stood out with several celebrations which raised eyebrows on the other side of the Channel.

Accused of celebrating too much for several English fans and consultants, Odegaard then dotted the i’s by explaining that this joy can be explained by a great victory against a direct competitor in the ranking: “too many celebrations? No, I think everyone who loves football knows how much it means to win this game. And if you’re not allowed to celebrate when you win a match, when are you allowed to celebrate? We are happy with this victory and we will remain humble. We continue to work hard and prepare for the next one but of course you have to be happy when you win.»
