Kylian Mbappe is one of the greatest players in world football but talkSPORT's Ally McCoist has warned Arsenal not to sign him.

The Frenchman will see his contract at Paris Saint-Germain expire in the summer and reports claim he would be willing to join the Gunners - due to his admiration of countryman Thierry Henry.

Mbappe has been a long-term target for Real Madrid, a club who he has reportedly decided to join ahead of next season.

It's a move that looks most likely to happen in the coming months, although interest from some of Europe's other top sides can't be ruled out.

However, when questioned on the World Cup winner's links with the Gunners, McCoist wasn't shy to express his concern over a potential move.

Amid claims Mbappe could be set to earn just shy of £30million-a-year at Madrid, the talkSPORT pundit was asked if Arsenal should break their financial structure to sign Mbappe, and he said: "No.

"No chance. Not only would you break it, you'd absolutely have to obliterate it and destroy it and once you do that, you know, it's happening. There's knocks on the door, 'He's on this, I'm only on a quarter of that, I've scored this many goals', etc etc."

McCoist was then asked if he would make Arsenal favourites to win the Premier League title with Mbappe in their team, but insisted Man City's quality would still prove too much for them.

"No, I wouldn't [make Arsenal title favourites], I'd still make City," he said on talkSPORT Breakfast.

"Listen I love the guy, I think he's a tremendous player. I'll never forget watching that World Cup final hat-trick live, one of the highlights of my football [career].

"And it's one of these situations where I'd probably like to see him move.

"He's been there [at PSG] and I'm not sure I'm happy with the power that he's got there either, remember that story about stakes in the club and he could have a say in this, have a say in that.

Emmanuel Petit believes there will be problems for Kylian Mbappe if he joins Real Madrid and Jude Bellingham will be one of them

"I think that there's only one club that he's got an opportunity to go to, Madrid. I think that's the only one."

Mbappe looks set to leave PSG after six seasons at the club where he has scored an incredible 242 goals in 289 appearances.

He has been named Ligue 1 Player of the Year four times and looks likely to link up with Jude Bellingham as a new Madrid 'Galactico'.
