Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta sends a key team player on vacation to aid his recovery.
Bukayo Saka knows that Arsenal miss him a lot. While the title race is more than ever launched in the Premier League, the London team, second six lengths behind leader Liverpool, which has one game less, will have to cope with at least two months without its offensive spearhead. Victim of a hamstring injury against Crystal Palace (1-5) in December, he underwent successful surgery immediately.
At a press conference this Friday, on the eve of the match against Aston Villa (2-2), Mikel Arteta delivered surprising advice to the English right winger. The Spanish coach urged Saka to take a few days off while he is away from the field.
Forced break for Saka
“Bukayo must take a vacation. He has to go, with his girlfriend, or his family, or by himself, it doesn't matter. He needs to get away for a few days to recharge his batteries. He can still do a lot of things thanks to his rehabilitation. This will help him get better,” declared the Basque technician.
Regardless, it is certain that Saka's absence has an impact on the Gunners dressing room. Without its flagship striker, Arsenal has a current record of three victories in seven matches, including two disappointments in early January against Newcastle (0-2) in the EFL Cup (League Cup) and against Manchester United (1-1, tab 3). -5) in the FA Cup (English Cup).
