Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia has insisted he’s very happy at the club amid reports he’s agreed personal terms with Arsenal.

The Gunners are in the market for a new goalkeeper with Aaron Ramsdale likely to leave the club before the end of the window.

Wolves are the currently favourites to land the England international and have submitted a loan offer which would see them cover the majority of Ramsdale’s wages.

Garcia happy at Espanyol amid Arsenal links

Garcia has been identified as a player Arsenal would like to bring in to provide competition to current number one David Raya and they have reportedly already agreed terms with the 23-year-old.

Despite those reports Arsenal are yet to make an official offer the goalkeeper who won Olympic gold with Spain this summer.

However, speaking to reporters after Espanyol’s game against Real Valladolid he insisted he was very happy at the club.

Joan Garcia in action for Espanyol.Garcia is attracting interest from Arsenal.

“I am very calm,” he told reporters in response to questions over his future.

“I am a person who isolates himself from all this and I am focused on next Saturday’s game [against Real Sociedad].

“In football, these things do not depend on oneself, but I am very happy here.”

Garcia is under contract with the La Liga outfit until 2028 but is believed to have a release clause of £21m in his deal.

He made 21 appearances in all competitions last season as Espanyol won promotion back to La Liga, whilst some reports in Spain have also said Liverpool are keeping an eye on the situation, although it appears they are now closing in on a deal for Valencia keeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Any move for Garcia is dependant on Ramsdale leaving the club, but with the end of the window fast approaching an Emirates exit has yet to materialise for the former Bournemouth and Sheffield United shot stopper.
