Artem Chigvintsev, known for his role on Dancing With The Stars and his marriage to former WWE star Nikki Bella, recently made headlines following his arrest for domestic battery. However, after the charges were dropped, Chigvintsev has now broken his silence on the matter.
Following the incident, Nikki Bella filed for divorce and is seeking full custody of their son, Matteo. In response, Artem has filed for joint custody. It was then reported that Artem Chigvintsev will not be facing criminal charges for his arrest on domestic battery.
Artem Chigvintsev took to his Instagram stories after the charges were dropped and addressed the same. Chingvintsev expressed his relief after the Napa County DA declined to file criminal charges against him. In a series of Instagram stories, he shared that the dropped domestic violence charges have been a huge weight lifted off his shoulders during a difficult time.
Artem stated that his main focus remains his son, Matteo, calling him the greatest blessing in his life. He hopes that securing equal custody will help them move forward as a family.
Artem also thanked his family, friends, and legal team for their unwavering support, expressing gratitude to those who believed in him. He is now focused on leaving this chapter behind and being the best father he can be.
“I am incredibly relieved and grateful that the domestic violence charges against me have been dropped. This has been an extremely difficult time for me. I am thankful that the truth has prevailed.
My focus has always been and will always be, our son Matteo. He is my world, and being his father is the greatest blessing in my life. All along, my main concern has been for him. I am committed to continuing to provide him with the love, support, and care he needs as we move forward. I am hopeful that securing an equal custody arrangement will help us move on.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to my family, friends, and legal team for standing by me during this challenging time. Your support has been invaluable, and I am thankful to everyone who believed in me and saw the truth for what it was.

Artem’s lawyer also claimed that he was not the primary aggressor in the domestic violence incident. Nonetheless, we’ll have to wait and see how the divorce case proceeds, as it’s quite clear it will be a long and arduous road ahead for both of them.
