Artem Chigvintsev’s lawyer is now speaking out about his divorce amid his arrest for domestic battery Known as a former pro-dancer on Dancing With the Stars, Artem and Nikki Bella met on the show as partners during season 25. It wasn’t until after their season that the two got together though. After getting engaged in 2019, the pair welcomed a son, Matteo, in 2020 and got married in 2022. After Artem was arrested in Napa Valley for domestic violence charges, Nikki filed for divorce from the dancer on September 11. Since then, he’s teamed up with attorney, Ilona Antonyan who spoke to People about the divorce and how Artem wishes to handle it. After claiming that Artem will not be making any comments in regards to the pending proceedings, Ilona said, “The parties are focused on co-parenting and working together for the best interests of their son.” When Nikki filed with the court, her requests were no spousal support for her or Artem, as well as sole legal and physical custody of their son, Matteo. Two days later, Artem submitted his own wishes that requested joint legal and physical custody of their son. He also wanted Nikki to not only pay him spousal support, but also his attorney fees. Despite Artem and Nikki’s very different wishes, Artem’s attorney says that the, “parties intend to resolve all pending issues on mutually acceptable terms.”
