Artios Awards: ‘Wicked’, ‘Complete Unknown’ & ‘Emilia Pérez’ Among Casting Society Winners

Wicked, A Complete Unknown, Emilia Pérez and ConclaveBest Picture Oscar nominees all — were among the film winners at the 40th anniversary Artios Awards, which the Casting Society handed out tonight over three ceremonies in Los Angeles, New York and London.

The Wild Robot — hot off dominating the Annie Awards — My Old Ass, The Idea of You and Janet Planet are the other movies honored for excellence in casting. Shows claiming top TV prizes were Emmy favorites Shōgun, Hacks, Baby Reindeer, RuPaul’s Drag Race along with Slow Horses, Palm Royale, Queer Eye, Avatar: The Last Airbender and Blue Eye Samurai.

Casting Society also honors excellence in casting across commercials and theater, with Stereophonic and The Outsiders taking the top prizes for the latter. See the full winners list below.

The Hoyt Bowers Award for Excellence in Casting was awarded at the Beverly Hilton to Oppenheimer casting director John Papsidera, whose film took Best Picture at last year’s Academy Awards. The Marion Dougherty New York Apple Award was presented to Lincoln Center Theater casting director Daniel Swee at the Edison Ballroom in Manhattan, and the Capelier-Shaw Award for Excellence in Casting was awarded to Juliette Ménager at White City House in London.

Casting Society added a pair of new categories this year for International Feature and International Series, won by Emilia Pérez and Monsieur Spade, respectively. CSA also said that it’s launching another new category for 2026 — the London Theater Award, honoring excellence in casting for UK stages
