Having not featured for Manchester United since December 12, fans are beginning to question whether Marcus Rashford has played his final game for the side.
The coming weeks will be pivotal in determining the forward’s future, given that he has a month to seal a move away and potentially bid farewell to his boyhood club after 20 years of association.
Ruben Amorim has opted against utilising Rashford for the last five matches. He returned to the matchday squad for Monday’s clash with Newcastle United but watched on from the bench as the Reds fell to a dismal 2-0 defeat to round off 2024.
It’s thought he was only restored to the team due to both Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte being suspended, with Amorim forced to make up the numbers.

He’s a homegrown, local Red who worked his way through the ranks before going on to score 138 goals for the club. For the younger generation, he’s been the epitome of what United stands for in regards to promoting youth talent and providing them the pathway to flourish in the first-team.
The 27-year-old seemingly won’t be short of suitors if his exit does materialise in the near future. According to journalist Tom McDermott, ‘as many as six clubs’ have established their interest in signing Rashford, with United currently considering deals on a loan-to-buy basis.
This would allow the No.10 to revive his stagnant form and drive up his transfer value ahead of a potentially permanent transfer in the summer. He is tied to Old Trafford until 2028 on a £325,000-a-week contract.
