Announced everywhere after his great season with Girona (41 matches, 25 goals, 10 assists), Artem Dovbyk took his time before making his choice. And after a failed Euro with Ukraine and time to think, the 27-year-old striker opted for a transfer to AS Roma. Tracked in particular by Atlético de Madrid, this choice is surprising, but seems quite coherent.

Asked about this choice by the media of the Roman club, the Ukrainian explained the reasons which pushed him to join the transalpine capital: “I chose Roma because it is one of the best Italian clubs, with a project that I consider important and in which I believe a lot. I hope we can do something interesting next season. I spoke with Daniele De Rossi. He explained something to me on the tactical level, then he told me a little about the club. After that, I felt a positive emotion and that is also why I made this choice.»
