England have tonight confirmed that Kobbie Mainoo has withdrawn from the camp for their forthcoming Nations League double-header.
The Manchester United starlet has missed only one match amidst a tumultuous start at club level, with the side sitting 14th-placed heading into the international break.
Mainoo was absent for last week’s Europa League clash away at FC Porto, having been substituted the match prior – a 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur – with a hamstring complaint. However, he did return to the starting 11 for Sunday’s stalemate with Aston Villa, playing for 85 minutes.
With the likes of Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford missing out this time around, Mainoo was set to be United’s only representative in the England squad this month – though the club would much rather have him back at Carrington to recover.

Mainoo will join his fellow Red back at Carrington
The statement released by England’s social media team tonight did not disclose the severity or nature of the midfielder’s injury, so United will be hoping it’s nothing too serious. Premier League action resumes for the Reds on October 19 at home to Brentford.
Elsewhere, Alejandro Garnacho has also left the Argentina camp, confirming on Instagram that he’d been navigating knee problems in his last two outings.
