Ashley Darby is the latest Real Housewives of Potomac star to react to Karen Huger’s sentencing following her DUI arrest.
“I really do encourage everyone to keep Karen in your prayers. I really care about her,” Ashley said while appearing on the Tamron Hall Show, “and I learned this on the train coming here today.” She added, “I cried like a baby.”
In court, Huger apologized to the judge and said that she would attend AA meetings for the rest of her life and that she would use her experience to become an advocate against drunk driving.
“What are we waiting for the fifth before we sentence you to jail time?” the judge asked Karen before hitting her with a two-year sentence, with one year suspended. Karen also faces a one year driving ban when she leaves jail and must pay a $2900 fine.
Karen charged with a DUI and DWI (driving while intoxicated), as well as other charges related to reckless driving, speeding, driving with suspended registration, and failing to report a change of address to the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration.
She was found guilty on all charges except for reckless driving.
