Asian Cup: Palestine eliminated

Host of the Asian Cup, Qatar eliminated Palestine on Monday at the round of 16 stage.

The Qataris won with a score of 2-1, thanks to goals from Hasan Al Haydos (45e+6) and Akram Afif (49e on penalty).

The Palestinians, for the first time qualified for the final phase of the continental tournament, opened the scoring with Oday Dabbagh (37e).

In the quarter-finals, Qatar will face Uzbekistan or Thailand. Another qualifier of the day, Jordan got the better of Iraq at the end of a breathtaking final match (3-2) and will face Tajikistan in the next round.
