It’s madness at Villa Park! Far from the wave of uncertainty experienced by French clubs in recent weeks, Aston Villa has been spending like crazy since the start of the summer transfer window. A purchasing power explained in particular by TV rights and the current Premier League contract estimated at 5.8 billion euros over three years, for the period 2022-2025. While the future arrangement will allow clubs across the Channel to share 1.95 billion per year (7.8 billion euros over four years from the 2025-2026 season), English teams are taking advantage of this extraordinary financial windfall to liven up the transfer market.

Biggest buyer and seller of the summer!

Symbol of this outrageous activity? The Premier League has already bought more than a billion euros worth of players since the summer transfer window opened, more than any other league. Serie A is currently at €500 million, the Bundesliga at €403.53 million, Ligue 1 at €293.29 million and La Liga at €180.44 million. And among the proactive clubs, how can we not mention Aston Villa… Indeed, the Birmingham-based club has already made official the arrivals of Ian Maatsen (€44.5 million), Cameron Archer (€16.65 million), Jaden Philogene (€16 million), Samuel Iling-Junior (€14 million), Lewis Dobbin (€11.8 million), Enzo Barrenechea (€8 million) and Ross Barkley (€5.9 million). But that’s not all.

More recently, the team coached by Unai Emery also announced the arrival of Belgian midfielder, Amadou Onana (22 years old) (https://www.footmercato.net/a6780733914097800493-piste-par-le-psg-amadou-onana-debarque-finalement-a-aston-villa). A transfer estimated at around €60M. In total, the Villans have spent nearly €180 million (€176.2M). Unstoppable since the start of the summer transfer window, Aston Villa has however financed these numerous arrivals by some departures, also expensive. Recently, Douglas Luiz joined Juventus Turin for a check of €51.5M. For his part, Tim Iroegbunam now plays for Everton (€10.7M). Finally, Moussa Diaby officially flew to Al-Ittihad for a check for 60 million euros.

João Félix and Karim Adeyemi as new leads…

Yet another operation offering the Villans the prospect of new reinforcements… In recent days, The Guardian stated, in this regard, that the seven-time English Champion had positioned himself on João Félix. Considered as a potential replacement for the former Bayer Leverkusen player, the 24-year-old Portuguese – loaned to Barça last season and who did not manage to convince the Catalan leaders to keep him – is highly regarded by Unai Emery who sees in him a very high-level lead. In addition to the Colchoneros player, the team chaired by Nassef Sawiris is also following the situation of a certain… Karim Adeyemi.

Under contract until June 2027 with Borussia Dortmund, the German international (4 caps, 1 goal) is coming off a season with 5 goals and 2 assists in 34 matches in all competitions. Renowned for his technical qualities and speed, the Munich native would therefore be in the Lions’ sights according to the latest information from Daily Mail. In search of new offensive reinforcements, the Villans could therefore quickly take action for the 22-year-old player, estimated at 35 million pounds sterling by the Marsupials (i.e. more than €40M). As you will have understood, if Aston Villa has already exploded the counters, the coming weeks could reserve new surprises on the Birmingham side. To the great delight of the fans of the Claret & Blue Army…
