Aston Villa, Lille’s future opponent in the Europa Conference League, could only draw (1-1) at West Ham.

It was at the end of endless added time and a long wait to invalidate a goal that West Ham and Aston Villa separated with a score of parity (1-1), Sunday, for the 29th day of the Premier League. It was a matter of hands that prevented the Hammers from creating a surprise at home. That of Michail Antonio (49th), first, then that of Tomas Soucek in stoppage time (90th + 6) to deprive the locals of a success which would have allowed them to come back to within a point of Manchester United in the 7th place in the ranking.

Michail Antonio, before being denied a goal, found the net with a diving header (1-0, 29th). Nicolo Zaniolo responded to him a little over ten minutes from the end of a recovery from the left (1-1, 79th).

Aston Villa, who will face Lille in the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League on April 11, are in fourth place, three points ahead of Tottenham.
