The summer is hot at Villa Park. Fourth in the Premier League last season, synonymous with qualification for the next Champions League, Aston Villa intends to set this summer transfer window alight and thus offer Unai Emery the most competitive squad possible. With this in mind, the Birmingham-based club has already made official the arrivals of Ian Maatsen (€44.5M), Cameron Archer (€16.65M), Jaden Philogene (€16M), Samuel Iling-Junior (€14M), Lewis Dobbin (€11.8M), Enzo Barrenechea (€8M) and Ross Barkley (€5.9M). But that’s not all.
As we recently revealed, the English team also announced, this Monday, the arrival of the Belgian midfielder, Amadou Onana (22 years old). A transfer estimated at around €60M. In addition to these numerous expenses (nearly €180 million already disbursed), the team chaired by Nassef Sawiris is also active in the direction of departures. Recently, Douglas Luiz joined Juventus Turin for a check of €51.5M. For his part, Tim Iroegbunam is now playing for Everton and a new member of the squad is getting ready to pack his bags.
João Félix finally back in the Premier League?
Indeed, former PSG player Moussa Diaby is preparing to join the Gulf. This Monday morning, we announced to you, in this regard, an agreement reached between Aston Villa and Al-Ittihad for the sale of the 25-year-old Frenchman for 55 million euros. Enough to offer the Villans a new financial windfall and therefore the prospect of yet another reinforcement… According to The Guardianthe seven-time English Champion has, in fact, positioned himself on João Félix. Considered as a potential replacement for the former Bayer Leverkusen player, the 24-year-old Portuguese is highly regarded by Unai Emery who sees in him a very high-level track.
The Atlético de Madrid striker, loaned to Barça this season, has not managed to convince the Catalan leaders to keep him. Having become unwanted at the Colchoneros, Félix must find a new club this summer. A return to Benfica seemed on the right track but the track has been floundering for several weeks and Aston Villa could well snatch the bet. The Viseu native has already experienced England during his time at Chelsea where he scored 4 goals in 20 games in the Blues jersey. To be continued…
