Aston Villa could reportedly be ready to let Jacob Ramsey leave the club for around £45million amid transfer interest from north London giants Arsenal and Tottenham, according to Mail Plus.
The 23-year-old has been a key player for Unai Emery’s side, but his status as a homegrown player could mean there’s the potential for the club to make pure profit from letting him go, which would be good for Financial Fair Play and the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Laws.
Ramsey is surely good enough to play for other big six clubs, so it will be interesting to see if the likes of Arsenal and Spurs step up their interest based on this latest development.
Villa fans would no doubt likely prefer to see a talent like Ramsey stay at the club, but at the same time they might recognise the benefit from cashing in on this opportunity to make a lot of money which could then be reinvested in other areas of the squad.

Ramsey surely won’t be short of suitors if he is made available, so this will be an interesting story to keep an eye on in the months ahead.

Arsenal have been linked with other midfielders as Thomas Partey and Jorginho are nearing the ends of their contracts, while Spurs could also probably do well to keep on strengthening after an inconsistent start to the 2024/25 campaign.
