The Jaden Philogene saga is coming to an end. Considered one of the great hopes of English football, the English striker distinguished himself in the colours of Hull City in the Championship last season, with 12 goals and 6 assists delivered in 32 matches. Enough to whet the appetite of the European big guns to the point that Barça offered a loan with an option to buy for around €23 million. Finally, Aston Villa decided to repatriate the Three Lions U21 international (4 caps, 3 goals) by paying €15.5 million to buy him from the Tigers.

This Friday, Jaden Philogene signed a five-year contract with the Villans as confirmed by the following press release: “Aston Villa are delighted to announce the signing of Jaden Philogene from Hull City. The winger returns to Villa after an impressive campaign with the Tigers in 2023/24. A Bodymoor Heath academy graduate, he made his senior debut for the club in 2021 and has since enjoyed loan spells at Stoke City and Cardiff City. He was part of Villa’s tour of the United States in the summer of 2023, delivering eye-catching performances for Unai Emery’s side.»
