Aston Villa v Chelsea preview

Aston Villa got back to winning ways in emphatic fashion on the weekend following their defeat to Newcastle a week ago, with a 5-0 win at Sheffield United shooting them back into the top four and the Champions League qualification positions.

Saturday evening's win at Bramall Lane also ended a three match run without a victory for Unai Emery's side, who have lost just two of their last 17 games in all competitions since the end of September.

Aston Villa have 18 of their last 22 matches at Villa Park in all competitions, and the seven-time FA Cup champions will be looking to add to that tally in a bid to reach the fifth round of the tournament since they went all the way to the final in 2015.

Chelsea make the trip to the West Midlands in desperate need of a win having lost their last two matches, conceding four goals in each of them, most recently losing 4-2 at home to Wolves leaving them in the bottom half of the table.

Mauricio Pochettino's side are winless in four of their last six matches, and are now closer in terms of Premier League points to the relegation zone than they are to the top five.

The Blues have struggled hugely recently in their away games, having lost six of their last seven matches on the road ahead of Wednesday night's Cup replay.

The west London side have reached the final of this competition in three of the last seasons, and will be hoping to add another domestic cup final to their tally this season, having already booked their date at Wembley in the Carabao Cup final later this month.

Aston Villa won the previous two meetings between the two sides prior to their goalless draw in their initial FA Cup fourth round tie at Stamford Bridge, however, Chelsea have won on five of their last six trips to Villa Park.
