João Félix sees another departure possibility closing in on him. The Portuguese attacking midfielder must find a new club this summer and Benfica seemed to be a credible option. However, Atlético’s demands seem too high for the Benfiquistas’ finances. “It is not possible for Benfica to pay what Atlético Madrid are asking for João Félix today. We would like to bring him back, but it does not seem possible for us at all”said Rui Costa, president of the Lisbon club.

Felix’s training club seemed to be holding the rope for a while to bring him back home but Aston Villa, very hot on the file, could finally win the bet. The Portuguese would like to return to play in the Premier League and the English club has the necessary finances to secure his services. At 24, the Viseu native is at a turning point in his career and the choice of his future club could be decisive.
