Atletico Madrid are having a busy transfer window and have already made several big-name signings ahead of the new season. They are now linked with three more operations, all of which appear closely interlinked from a financial perspective.

Los Rojiblancos are close to signing Julian Alvarez from Manchester City and Conor Gallagher from Chelsea, and the key behind the transfers was said to be the departure of striker Samu Omorodion to Stamford Bridge.

As revealed by Fabrizio Romano, however, the striker’s move to Chelsea collapsed at the nth minute putting the entire operation at risk.

Atletico Madrid are thus in an emergency mood and are looking to salvage the situation by introducing a new name on the table – Joao Felix.

Barcelona’s target set to move?

As revealed by the Italian journalist, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are already discussing the possibility of including Barcelona target Felix as part of the Gallagher deal and both parties appear to see it with good eyes.

Felix’s agent Jorge Mendes is already in London to finalise the move if possible and secure his client’s departure from Atletico Madrid.

The Portuguese star has been training under Diego Simeone’s command in recent weeks but the tension between the two implies that a departure from the Spanish capital is a non-negotiable.

Given his history at Chelsea, albeit not very sweet, Felix could well progress to sign for the English giants in the coming weeks.

Needless to say, this comes as a massive blow to Barcelona’s plans for the Catalans were looking to bring back the forward on loan once more after his decent performance last season.

The Blaugrana, for their part, continue to focus on Nico Williams as the priority target for the left wing. Optimistic reports have come out over the past 24 hours but it remains to be seen if the positivity continues over the coming week.
