Atlético Madrid have not had a successful season. Fourth in La Liga, the Colchoneros have not even managed to capitalize on their qualification for the round of 16 of the Champions League against Inter Milan, as they were eliminated by Borussia Dortmund in the next round. To do better next season, the Madrid club has decided to shop around within the Real Sociedad squad.

While Robin Le Normand is reportedly approaching according to the Iberian press, Mikel Merino is also reportedly being targeted by the Matelassiers according to Brand. A transfer would be to the player’s taste, not inclined to extend with the San Sebastian team where his contract expires in a year. As a reminder, the Spanish international, currently at the Euro, has a release clause of 65 million euros.
