Absent for most of last season, Frenchman Thomas Lemar is determined to get back to his best.

Thomas Lemar, one of the French world champions in 2018, is delighted to be back on the pitch with Atlético de Madrid.

Lemar eager to play again

The French winger has been out since injuring his Achilles last September. After featuring in a warm-up match last weekend against Numancia, Lemar said:

“The truth is that it has all been very difficult, but thank God, people have helped me. I have had people who have helped me a lot and the truth is that I have had a difficult time, but they have helped me a lot.”

“Thanks to the club, the fans, to Oscar Pitillas, to Jesus, who helped me a lot? Without them it would have been more difficult,” said the former Monegasque.

Lemar went on to say that he missed the competition a lot: “I missed being able to compete with Atlético, to have a rhythm and that’s what I tried to do, to make things go well over time.”
