Atlético Madrid could have signed Gonçalo Ramos. If the Portuguese had joined the Colchoneros, the Julian Alvarez case could have taken a completely different turn. According to The Team Before finalizing the file leading to the Argentinian striker, the Madrid club had come to inquire about the former Benfica striker. In an alternative scenario, Julian Alvarez could therefore have been a Paris Saint-Germain player this summer.

Finally, Gonçalo Ramos will therefore be back for a second season in the French capital. The Portuguese will have to earn the trust of Luis Enrique, who did not make him an undisputed starter despite more than encouraging performances last season. Without Kylian Mbappé, who left for Real Madrid, to steal the show, the Portuguese international (14 caps, 8 goals) will have to establish himself as the leader of the Parisian attack, if he wants to justify the 65 million euros paid by the Parisian club to snatch him from Benfica last summer.
