Hon. Jaafaru Yakubu, a serving member of Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency has condemned every attacks on politicians.
According to a signed letter with the headline, “AFTERMATH OF WARDS AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS CONGRESS AND POLITICAL SUPPORTERS ATTITUDES ON SOCIAL MEDIA AIMED AT CAUSING CONFUSION”, it reads:
“My attention has been drawn to unwarranted comments by some supporters purportedly affiliated with our political party, the PDP, following the recent Wards and Local Governments congress.
“Most of these negative comments have targeted Distinguished Senator Haruna Manu, the senator representing Taraba Central Senatorial Zone.
“I must distance myself, my constituents and teeming supporters from such uncultured remarks. I urge overzealous supporters to refrain from making comments that could harm our party’s unity. Such behaviour is inconsistent with my principles and the political ideology I represent.
“Any attack on Senator Haruna Manu or anyone else is an attack on our party’s values. I implore those involved to desist immediately.
“Senator Haruna Manu is a respected politician and a person I greatly admire.
“The congresses are essential to our party’s functioning and must be conducted with civility and caution.
“I thank our leader, His Excellency, Dr Agbu Kefas, for providing a fair environment during the Congress and offering us guidance.
“I wish for unity and progress within the PDP.”
