The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, on Monday, warned the newly installed compound heads, popularly called Mogajis as well as Baales, to avoid land dispute matters.

He gave this warning during the installation of six new Mogajis and five Baales, held at the Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan, in the Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The newly installed Mogajis were Adeyemi Soladoye as Mogaji Apabiekun family, Ita- Olukoyi, Labo area; Kazeem Akinro who became Mogaji of Oluyege family, Oje Eleni; Ganiyu Odegbemi who emerged as Mogaji of Odugbemi family, Agbede Adodo area; Ahmed Olohuntoyin who became Mogaji of Akinsinde Akindawonru compound, Idikan area and Owolabi Adedeji, who was installed as Mogaji of Otin family, Idi Arere area.

The new Baales included Adegboyega Makinde, who was installed as Baale of Olokuta village in the Oluyole Local Government Area; Mufutau Abonde, who became Baale of Mokola community in the Ibadan North Local Government Area; Oderinlo Ajani, who became Baale of Isebo village in the Egbeda Local Government Area and Rasaki Temitope, who emerged as Baale of Orankan Balogun village in the Akinyele Local Government Area.

Olubadan, who spoke through the Ashipa Olubadan, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi, warned them to avoid land dispute matters and be of good conduct in their respective domains.

He informed them that they were the representatives of the Olubadan and the Olubadan-In-council, hence the need to mind their behaviours not to tarnish the image of Ibadanland.

He said, “I admonish the newly installed Mogajis and Baales to be of good conduct as they have become representatives of the Olubadan and his council in their respective domains.

“I urge you to embrace peace and understanding in dealing with your respective families and communities. Take note that the honour being bestowed on you, if abused, can be withdrawn. So, I will advise you all to avoid land dispute matters.”

Among the dignitaries at the occasion were former Governor of the State and the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja; the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola; the Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Eddy Oyewole-Foko; the Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Olubunmi Dada-Isioye; Ashipa Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi; the Ashipa Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Dauda Abiodun Azeez and the Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief Akeem Adewoyin.
