Al-Nassr’s Marcelo Brozovic and Aymeric Laporte had a heated argument before the AFC Champions League match against Al-Fayha.

The former Manchester City defender appeared to agitate the former Inter midfielder, who had to be restrained by members of staff. Cameras followed the Al-Nassr midfielder who appeared to be chatting with Laporte before being pushed away by teammate Ali Lajami. The Croatian turned around and, to prevent the situation from getting out of control, a member of staff had to intervene.

In January 2023, Cristiano Ronaldo launched the Saudi revolution; this summer, Brozovic and Laporte joined him. Having just faced each other in the Champions League final, these two players were considered a great coup for Saudi football. After winning the match and a hat-trick with City, Laporte left and immediately became the most loved defender in the SPL. But the 29-year-old hasn’t had it easy; he recently admitted he was “disappointed” with his new home.

Al-Nassr coach Luis Castro didn’t seem too concerned about the incident when he spoke after the match. “ These confrontations can be positive”he said after seeing his team qualify for the next round.

The Saudi Pro League club managed to beat Al-Fayha to advance to the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League. The next meeting will take place against Al-Shabab to try to catch up with Al-Hilal at the top of the standings.
