Diego Simeone did not give good news regarding Antoine Griezmann at a press conference.
Antoine Griezmann will still have to wait. Injured an ankle during the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League against Inter Milan a fortnight ago, the French international has missed Atlético Madrid’s last three matches.
Although the Frenchman with 18 goals this season (7 assists) returned to collective training with the Colchoneros this Friday, he will be too tight to face Cadiz on Saturday (4:15 p.m.). Diego Simeone confirmed his withdrawal at a press conference.
Uncertain for Inter
“He won’t be available for tomorrow, we don’t know if he will be there against Inter”declared the Argentinian coach, who also casts doubt on the presence of “Grizi” against Inter Milan, Wednesday evening, in the round of 16 second leg of the C1 (1-0 defeat of Atlético at the go).
The return of Antoine Griezmann to the field could therefore take place during the reception of FC Barcelona on March 17. He should then continue with the France team, which will face Germany on March 23 and Chile on the 26th.
