Vinicius, Jude Bellingham and Rodri are the favorites to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or and they will all be present at the ceremony on October 28. France Football will not inform the winner of the year before the evening.
Star captain of Argentina, 2022 world champion, Lionel Messi logically obtained his eighth Ballon d’Or last year, the award for France Football celebrating the best player of the 2022-2023 season. The Ballon d’Or record holder, who left for Inter Miami a few months earlier, was invited by the organization (the L’Equipe group) to go to the ceremony in Paris. The legendary number 10 would certainly not have come to the French capital (where he experienced two difficult seasons) if he had not been informed of his new coronation.
On the contrary, for the 2024 edition of the Ballon d’Or, the new winner will not be informed of his coronation before the gala evening at the Théâtre du Châtelet (in the center of Paris), on Monday October 28. The player in question will not be interviewed by journalists from France Football before the long-awaited ceremony, as indicated by Mario Cortegana, the Spanish journalist of The Athletic (an American-British media that could not be more serious). The winner will explode with joy live!
Vinicius Ballon d’Or narrowly?
Vinicius is the favorite for the 2024 Ballon d’Or, he who was the decisive winger for a Real Madrid champion of Spain and winner of the Champions League. Since he did not shine during the Copa América, the Brazilian is probably just ahead of the two other contenders, his Merengues teammate Jude Bellingham, also a Euro finalist with England, and Rodri, the master of play Manchester City, the Premier League champion, and Spain, the European champion.
The top scorers of the 2023-2024 season will complete the top 5. Kylian Mbappé and Harry Kane have scored 52 goals in all competitions with their clubs and their national team. One of the two will leave with the Gerd Müller Trophy (according to a tie-breaking criterion which is not known). Erling Haaland follows a little further with 45 goals. He can totally not show up at the Ballon d’Or ceremony.
