Thunderclap over Madrid. According to RMC SportVinícius Jr. and Casa Blanca are now certain that the Brazilian will not win the Ballon d’Or and have canceled the arrival of the Madrid delegation for the ceremony which will be held this Monday evening in Paris. While the name of the nominee was supposed to remain secret, Manchester City midfielder Rodri would now be almost certain to win the precious ticket.

While Vinícius Júnior was announced as the favorite by all European media, this unexpected turnaround would have provoked the ire of Florentino Perez. The Merengue leaders are said to be furious and will therefore not go to Paris this evening. A decision which probably leaves no more doubt concerning the final outcome of the ceremony and the name of the next winner.
