Brazilian star Vinicius Jr no longer hides his ambition to win the Ballon d’Or.
Since Kaka’s triumph in 2007, Brazil has not had a Ballon d’Or winner. But the wait may be over this year. Vinicius Jr is considered one of the main contenders to succeed Lionel Messi.
The person concerned himself agreed with this, during an interview given to the media CNN. “I don’t really like to talk about myself or the Ballon d’Or, but it’s something that everyone has been talking to me about a lot in recent months.he confided. Everyone wishes me the best and I have come to believe that I am the best. And all these compliments give me even more confidence. I don’t know what will happen but may the best man win.”
Vinicius Jr. sees big for the future
Vinicius then clarified that he would be more proud to be the 5e Brazilian to win this prestigious award: “I have to follow in the footsteps of Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, and Kaká, who all won the Ballon d’Or.”
If he has personal goals, the Merengue winger affirms that he is above all focused on making Real shine and guiding them to other triumphs. All with the help of his new partner, Kylian Mbappé. “Real Madrid always have the goal of winning everything. With the arrival of Mbappé, everyone says that the team can become unstoppable. Now we have to show on the pitch that we can win everything.”
