Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo may not fare well with his club FC Barcelona.
Ronald Araujo may be living at FC Barcelona in recent weeks. His departure at the end of the season is more than likely. Not because of his recent error in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, which had generated a big controversy internally, but because he is strongly desired by an English giant.
Heading to England for Araujo?
Manchester United are preparing an offer for the Uruguay international. According to Sport, the Red Devils are pushing hard to recruit the player this summer. They are ready to pay a considerable amount for his services.
United are willing to spend more than €80 million on the Blaugrana full-back. They thus hope to pull the rug out from under the feet of the competition. It has already been reported that Bayern Munich would consider paying a sum between 65 and 70 million euros.
At the same time, it seems that a contract extension with Barcelona still remains a possibility for Araújo. The centre-back’s current contract expires in the summer of 2026.
