Barça defrauded by a fake agent

It’s a strange affair that the Cadena SER. Indeed, during the transfer of Robert Lewandowski in the summer of 2022, Barça’s management was defrauded by a fake agent posing as Pini Zahavi, the Pole’s agent. The latter thus demanded, via email, the payment of a commission for the transfer of the player from Bayern Munich. The criminal notably threatened to have the player’s registration blocked by UEFA if the usual commission paid to player agents was not paid to him.

The Barça leaders saw nothing but fire, and thus transferred 1 million euros to an account belonging, according to the scammer, to a colleague of the agent. Barça explains for its part that the agent ultimately did not arrive at the fake agent’s account and that he was able to recover it, without explaining how. Pini Zahavi, for his part, filed a complaint for identity theft.
