FC Barcelona are reportedly preparing a new offer for Dani Olmo and are confident in their ability to close the deal.
The RB Leipzig creator is also of interest to Bayern Munich, but he will give priority to a transfer to the Blaugrana.
The Catalan club seem to be prioritising Nico Williams, but it seems that they are still working on reaching an agreement with Olmo this transfer window. While the first terms of an offer of €40 million, paid in €10 million tranches over four seasons, and €20 million in variables, seemed to have been rejected, Fabrizio Romano reports that FC Barcelona are preparing a new proposal.
Barça’s new offer
Today, Marca reports that FC Barcelona believe the negotiations will reach a favourable outcome, with Olmo himself keen to return to his boyhood club ten years later. The 26-year-old wanted the negotiations to be concluded before he resumes training at Leipzig on August 9, but FC Barcelona are not prepared to guarantee that. However, the Barcelona bosses are trying to meet Leipzig’s €60 million demand.
Many will conclude that if Barcelona are making progress in negotiations for Olmo, it is because they have lost Williams. He is expected to communicate his intentions on his future this week, and Olmo is FC Barcelona’s main alternative to the Basque winger.
