As soon as Xavi’s contract was terminated, Hansi Flick signed his. Hired until 2026, the German coach has agreed to reduce his salary to around €3 million annually, according to Spanish media. The former Bayern coach, with whom he won 8-2 against Barça in 2020, will have a lot to do with this young team. The new Blaugrana coach says he is eager to get started and test his team.

“It is a great honor and also a dream to sign a contract as coach of FC Barcelona. This club is incredible. The philosophy is similar to mine, possession football and very technical (…). I really want to start. Since my arrival, I have seen that everyone loves this club and is doing everything possible for its success. Barça has one of the best youth teams in the world. In the first team, there is a mix between experienced players and talented young players. I think we have to work so that they can improve. This is our work with Deco and President Laporta. Teamwork is very important to me. I won a few titles with Bayern Munich and I am sure to follow this path at Barcelona. We can continue many things because that is what is most important”he declared on the microphone of Barça TV just after signing his contract with Joan Laporta.
