This Friday morning, FC Barcelona surprised everyone by announcing the departure of Thiago Alcantara. The Spanish midfielder, who had just retired, arrived just a few weeks ago as Hansi Flick’s assistant for the senior team. And the former Liverpool player didn’t last long since he was just replaced by Arnau Blanco. This was clearly planned for the pre-season.

And at a press conference this Friday, Hansi Flick was keen to deny the rumours of a conflict. “We have had a great relationship since he played in Munich. We called each other when he finished his career and I told him he would be a great coach. He helped the team and he is a great person. Now he is leaving and we have Arnau, from La Masia, who also gives us a lot of support, I don’t know if he will come back or not.”he confided.
