While Xavi will leave at the end of the season, FC Barcelona have named his future successor.

Embarked on a difficult season (provisionally 4th in Liga), the FC Barcelona is already thinking about the future and especially about Xavi’s replacement, who will leave office in June. Since this announcement, the Catalan club has been working to find his successor and seems to have set its sights on Roberto DeZerbi.

From Zerbi first

The Italian technician has achieved great things with Brighton since his arrival in September 2022, despite a more complicated 2023-2024 season for the Seagulls in the Premier League (9th). If we are to believe the information from A.S. this Saturday, President Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco would have given their agreement to recruit De Zerbi this summer, believing that he corresponds perfectly to Barça’s DNA.

But once again, the financial aspect could thwart the Blaugranas’ plans. Under contract until 2026 with Brighton, De Zerbi has a release clause set at 10 million euros and will therefore not be easy to bring in.
