Barça, the astonishing comparison

Will Still, Reims coach, made a surprising comparison between his team and FC Barcelona after the draw against Lens.

The Stade de Reims was cruelly lacking in realism against RC Lens (1-1), this Sunday in Ligue 1. During the reception of the Sang et Or, the residents of Auguste-Delaune recorded a total of 11 shots, including only 2 on target. After the match, coach Will Still made a funny comparison with Barça to justify his team’s result, highlighting in particular the recurring errors which cost dearly in points.

“We are not Barça”

“For the past two years, I have made mistakes almost all the time. I’m a human being, I know there are certain things that will piss me off. We have to try to correct that as quickly as possible, to erase these little errors from our game because it costs us quite a lot in terms of points. I say it, everything is not perfect, we are only the Stade de Reims. Mistakes are part of the thing, if we didn’t make them, we would be Barça. And we are not Barça,” said the Belgian-British technician.

This statement is particularly surprising given the Catalan club’s current difficulties this season, despite its recent narrow victory against Celta Vigo (2-1) in La Liga this Saturday.
