FC Barcelona has just revealed the squad that will travel to Valencia for the first day of La Liga. In this selection, there are a few surprises, including the return of Pedri, injured at the Euro with Spain. The 20-year-old midfielder is ahead of schedule and will therefore be making the trip to Mestalla. The two notable absences are Dani Olmo, the star recruit of the Barça transfer window who has still not been able to register with La Liga for economic reasons, but also Ilkay Gündogan.

The German midfielder, at the heart of departure rumors for several weeks, was reportedly injured during the friendly match against Monaco and is being rested as a precaution. Hansi Flick has therefore also confirmed the undesirable status of Ansu Fati and Vitor Roque, both of whom have been sidelined. Several youngsters from La Masia have been called up to play in this match which will be played this Saturday evening at 9:30 p.m. at the Estadio Mestalla.
