Barça, the terrible injury

It was a relatively comfortable evening for the Catalans, although it was not without casualties.

During the second half, Pau Cubarsi had to be replaced by Sergi Dominguez after receiving a blow to the face. Although the injury is not believed to be serious, images posted on Instagram by Barcelona teammate Gavi show just how badly the 17-year-old central defender was injured.

Cubarsi injured

Cubarsi has been a mainstay of Barcelona’s defense so far this season, and while that is likely to continue this weekend against Real Sociedad, the damage to his face will be a bit of a concern for manager Hansi Flick.

Barcelona would be in trouble if Cubarsi is unable to face Real on Sunday, as Dominguez is the only other central defender available for selection – Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen and Eric Garcia are all injured.
