Pedri’s injury could bring Barça a small windfall. Injured in the left knee after a big foul by Toni Kroos at the start of the match against Germany, the 21-year-old midfielder sees his black series of injuries continue. An absence that could nevertheless allow Barça to recover a little money.

If the Barcelona star is out for more than four weeks, UEFA will compensate the Catalan club at least €20,548 per day throughout the player’s recovery. The European body is planning a compensation program based on salaries for clubs in the event of an injury to one of their players during an international competition.
