Barça management are considering offering a salary increase to their midfielder, Pedri.
FC Barcelona have entered into new negotiations with Pedri with a view to a contract extension.
According to the media Jijantesthis is only a first contact between the two parties, but Barça has expressed its intention to extend the player’s contract, which ends in 2026. The meeting between the two parties lasted an hour and a half and took place in the office of Barça’s sporting director, Deco.
A salary increase for Pedri
The club’s intention is to extend Pedri’s contract beyond 2026. The Canarian has a release clause of 1 billion euros. However, Barça wants their young prodigy to have no reason to look elsewhere. With this in mind, they plan to increase his salary while extending their agreement.
As a reminder, Pedri was absent for a long time last season (missed 19 matches) due to a hamstring injury. But, he is coming back well during the current season. He played in all 6 matches for the Blaugrana, including 5 as a starter.
