Since Hansi Flick took over the reins of the FC Barcelona senior team, it has become a normal sight to see youngsters from the youth and reserve ranks get called up to train with the first-team squad.
The likes of Toni Fernandez, Guille Fernandez, Unai Hernandez, Alexis Olmedo, and Andres Cuenca, are some of those players who have been called up to senior training quite frequently and have even made the matchday squad on multiple occasions.
Alex Campos earns training call-up
Now, as reported by SPORT, Hansi Flick has called up a new face to the Barcelona first-team training session today in Alex Campos.
The 16-year-old is a player for the Blaugrana’s Juvenil B outfit and is a versatile operator who can feature as a centre-back or a defensive midfielder with equal comfort.
Signed from Atletic Segre, Campos has impressed those within the La Masia ranks even earning himself a contract renewal last year.
The teenager, born in 2008, is rated highly by coaches at the club due to his athleticism and quality on the ball.
Having been alternating between the Cadete A and Juvenil B teams last season, Campos has earned a promotion to the latter squad in the current campaign.
And, getting a call-up to train with the senior team will come as a huge confidence boost for the youngster to keep training and working hard and continue his growth at La Masia.
