Unai Hernandez is one of many young prospects at FC Barcelona who have been tipped for a bright future with the first-team setup.

The 19-year-old versatile footballer, who can play in midfield and on the left flank, was one of the stars for Barça Atletic last season, finishing with ten goals and seven assists from 38 games, almost helping his team get promoted to La Liga 2.

The La Masia prospect was also called up to the matchday squad for the first team on as many as eight occasions last season by Xavi Hernandez, although an official debut eluded him.

Unai Hernandez attracting serious interest but no plans to leave

Now, Mundo Deportivo reports that considering the talent and the potential that Unai Hernandez possesses, a number of clubs have registered a strong interest in signing him up this summer.

Indeed, as per the report, ‘dozens of clubs’ from the Spanish second division as well as outside the country are keen on signing the 19-year-old starlet.

However, despite the number of suitors, Unai Hernandez has only one goal on his mind – to succeed at Barcelona.

Indeed, the teenage prodigy intends to continue shining for Barça Atletic, where he has already impressed with two goals and an assist in pre-season, before earning a spot in the first-team setup at the Catalan club.

Unai participated in pre-season under Flick

Unai was one of the youth players that Barcelona first-team manager Hansi Flick called up to start the pre-season and took to the United States for the tour.

The youngster did not get a lot of minutes though as he was recovering from fever. Even though he started and played 45 minutes in the pre-season El Clasico against Real Madrid, he was unable to showcase his full potential on the tour.

Having now been handed the captain’s armband for Barça Atletic, the 19-year-old, whose contract renewal is also in the works, intends to succeed at the club and become a first-team player despite the wave of interest in his services.
