Mikayil Faye is one among several young talents who are knocking on the doors of the Barcelona first-team setup.

Signed from NK Kustosija in the summer of last year, the 19-year-old has been turning out for Barça Atletic and has showcased tremendous potential under the tutelage of Rafa Marquez.

Faye has trained fairly regularly with Xavi’s first-team players as well, although an official senior debut continues to elude him.

Be that as it may, the youngster made his senior debut with the Senegal national team on Friday, giving an indicator of his immense potential.

Bayern Munich monitoring Faye

Faye’s quality and talent have not gone unnoticed as several top clubs across Europe have taken note of his abilities.

Indeed, as per Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato, Bayern Munich have the Barcelona teenage starlet on their radars, along with some other big clubs in the continent.

The Bayern Munich management consider the young centre-half an exciting talent and are keeping close tabs on him, but there are other teams also watching the Senegalese ace.

It must be remembered that both Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund were keen on signing Faye last summer but were beaten by Barça.

Furthermore, the Catalans turned down offers from RC Lens, Deportivo Alaves, and Girona for the 19-year-old during the winter transfer window.

But, as per the report, Lens are considering returning with an offer for the youngster again in the summer. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid are also understood to be admirers, while it has been previously reported that Tottenham are also keen.

Faye uninterested in leaving

Despite the widespread interest, Faye’s focus is on Barcelona as his ambition is to break into the first-team setup just like his defensive partner Pau Cubarsi has done over the last two months.

There is a lot of competition for places, especially in the centre-back department where Jules Kounde, Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Inigo Martinez, and the aforementioned Cubarsi are battling it out for two places.

But Faye’s wish is to establish himself in the senior setup at the Catalan outfit. He has a contract with the club until 2027 with a release clause worth €400 million.

It will be intriguing to see what stance Barcelona take with him if a big offer around the €20 million mark were to arrive, having previously rejected a €9 million proposal.
