Lately, Barcelona’s young talents Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi have been at the forefront of the headlines as their dominant performances, despite just being mere teenagers, have caught the eye of many.
The fact that they recently earned call-ups to the Spain national team only adds to the acclaim they garner.
But it is important to note that La Masia has supplied an abundance of talented gems this season, namely Fermin Lopez, Hector Fort, and Marc Guiu.
And Fermin’s upsurge in form has especially been one of the major reasons Barcelona headed into the international break with such flying colors.
Indeed, the 20-year-old La Masia jewel scored in back-to-back games against Napoli and Atletico Madrid, filling in the absence of Pedri seamlessly.
Fermin garnering attention abroad
Now, according to SPORT, Premier League teams, Everton and Aston Villa are interested in Fermin Lopez.
In fact, the report argues that this is not the first time Everton have inquired about the Spanish midfielder, as the Toffees already tried to sign him in the January transfer window.
Heading into the summer, the Merseyside club have rekindled their interest and have further been joined by Aston Villa in pursuit of the La Masia talent.
However, at the moment, Fermin is only considering continuing at Barça. The fact that he has been earning game-time with regularity with the Catalans is unlikely to sway his mind about a potential departure anytime soon.
Everton possess one of Barcelona’s targets
Fermin has no intention to part ways this summer, as his mind is set on succeeding with Barcelona, after tasting first-team football at his boyhood club.
However, matters get interesting considering Everton have in their ranks a player who impresses Barcelona, namely Amadou Onana.
Reports have previously claimed that Barcelona are looking at ways to reduce the midfielder’s cost, with Everton seeking €60 million for him.
Although there have been no indications of a move yet, it has been suggested that Fermin could be offered as part of the deal, although the player’s stance is to continue.
