Bayer Leverkusen defensive mainstay Jonathan Tah is set to become one of the most sought-after players in the summer, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season
FC Barcelona are one of the defender’s most ardent suitors, having had him on their radar since last summer. More recently, though, Real Madrid have also made the German international a target for the summer.
Barcelona ahead in Tah race
But, according to a report from journalist Matteo Moretto, Barcelona have the edge over their rivals Real Madrid in the race to sign Jonathan Tah.
The 28-year-old German international may well be attracting attention from several clubs, including Real Madrid, who have already sounded him out over a possible transfer.
However, as per the report, Barcelona have the jump on their rivals and can further take advantage of the fact that they have an excellent relationship with Tah’s agent, Pini Zahavi.
After all, Zahavi is considered a close aide by the management and even helped the club sign Robert Lewandowski.
It remains to be seen how the talks between the two parties progress but as things stand, Barcelona seem to have a upper hand on their rivals Real Madrid.
